Stress=Joy
Can stress look like this?!?! Heck ya it can!
I don’t know about you, but often I find myself overbooking my time. Especially in the summer! It’s not that I don’t want to do all these amazing things and connect with people… and of course, chauffer the kiddos around… but man it’s a lot to juggle.
Sometimes I feel overwhelmed when I have too many things on my plate. That can trigger a sense of frustration or irritation. I found myself feeling that today. How, you ask, does it relate to my photo?!?!
Well, emotions and sensations are merely energy. Molecules of emotion, in motion. Which means, they are just particles passing through. I know I know, it’s not always that easy to see this when the emotion is panic or fear. BUT let me tell you, this outlook could completely shift your neurobiology and experience of what’s happening in your mind and body.
I have a little mantra I’ve been working on. It goes like this:
“I grant everything in my life a TOTAL right to it’s existence”
Ok, take a breath with me and just let that phrase settle in your system. (When I say system, I’m referring to your Nervous System, or brain and spinal cord.) I grant EVERYTHING in my life a total right to it’s existence. Can you notice a deep sigh or sense of peace in your body as you say that?
That’s because when we welcome our outer and inner experiences, we aren’t resisting them. And when we don’t resist, the energy moves quickly. Emotions are a funny thing really. Once you allow the energy to have it’s voice, it usually turns to joy. (Hence the picture)
So… my challenge for you (and myself) is to see if we can’t all give a little more permission for how life is ALREADY SHOWING UP. Not how we want, but how it’s happening. Grant it it’s time, and let it move.
